Over the years I have amassed a number of good books in my library. Below I will share the books I consider worth the read. As this list grows, I will likely start grouping them by topics, however for now it is small enough.

- The Autistic Brain by Temple Grandin
An excellent book going over the experiences of the author as she learns about her own brain. In it she describes some unique characteristics of autism, as well as possible considerations for the future.
- Women and Girls on the Autism Spectrum, Second Edition by Sarah Hendrickx & Jess Hendrickx
This book explores the unique experiences of female diagnosed with autism, including the frequent experiences of being diagnosed in adulthood, as well as potential emotional and medical considerations for women with autism.
- The Autistic Survival Guide to Therapy by Steph Jones
The author goes into detail about her own experiences struggling in therapy with providers who are unaware or uninterested in autism, discovering it in herself, and what to look out for when searching for treatment.
- Unmasking Autism by Devon Price
The author goes into detail about the concept of masking in autism, specifically with adults and females, and the challenges associated with it.
- A Mismatch of Salience by Dr. Damian Milton
A collection of essays and academic writings by Milton exploring his concepts of the Double Empathy Problem and how autism is treated in modern practice. He proposed that it is not only people with autism who struggle to understand others, but that others are likely to also struggle to understand people with autism, and the issue rests in all parties to work together.
- Verbal Judo by George Thompson
Thompson discusses some concepts very important to therapy, as communication skills are useful in all areas. He explains ways to obtain compliance from others without arousing their anger, and shares personal experiences to illustrate his points.
